Title Process provides more profit than Product
The main subject of this presentation is to demonstrate the emergence of modernmethods of off-site construction within the domestic market {China} and what isneeded to make a truly competitive solution to that of traditionalconstruction. We will also explore the options of build techniques within the"modular" manufactured sector, to distinguish the variants and thepros and cons of each.
We will also cover the overseas demand for engineered building stock; How China"could" be in a position to provide main stream building stock for aglobal market and what would be needed to be considered to do so successfully.
Throughout the presentation commercial, technical and contractual attributesare to be covered.
Structure
Thereare two structures to consider (1) Presentation (a) (b) (c) ~ (2)Presentation& Workshop. (a) - (e)
Time required for the presentation 2-3 Hours with a 20 minutes break, toinclude a workshop 4 -5 ( two 20 min breaks)
(a) Market perspective from the inside out.
This section provides the audience with a decade of history of the engineeredhousing market viewed from a foreign perspective from within
Main areas to cover:-
• Design for Manufacture.
• Product moves , people working in cells.
• Quality Management at every stage.
• Working to a fixed cost.
(c) Who’s Technology is it anyway ?
This section deals with the integration of a manufactured product into aconstruction environment.
This will cover each distinct role, how those roles fit into existing constructionframeworks and how those structures need to be flexed to accommodate theseintegrated roles and how those roles are likely to change in the future.
(d) Team exercises aimed at Process Engineering.
The purpose of this section is to demonstrate the advantages of processengineering within a manufacturing environment.
Exercise
• Manufacturing loading { individual team exercise against each other } purpose to introduce lean manufacturing.
• Cost Control { exercise to consider cost and cost management, integrating manufacture and on site operations.
